About Me

David Patrick Butcher

Welcome to my E-Portfolio! I am a freshman from Yellow Springs, Ohio – If you’ve never been you should visit! I love being outside, longboarding, learning and meeting new people.

During High School I took classes as a PSEO student at Wright State University. I  eventually went on to be the Assistant to the Chief of Staff for the university. This experience, along with assisting my high school move to Project Based Learning, gave me a love for education and the problems surrounding it. I have held internships at Ohio Education Association, ProgressOhio, John Carney for State Auditor, and Ohio Coalition for Equity and Adequacy in School Funding. I focused on charter school reform, state testing, funding, and equality.

During that time I was also focused on small businesses of my own ranging from DJing to installing electric vehicle car charging infrastructure at commercial buildings. Being an entrepreneur combines my love for the non profit work environment I had, solving problems, and creating new/exciting things I can call mine. At Ohio State I am pursuing a degree in Operations Management – I hope to use this degree to create better, more efficient models of business during my entrepreneurial ventures. I chose ICE Scholars to help with this effort and to meet people with similar interests. It has already created a wonderful community for me within such a large school.

I want to change the world; If you do too send me a message. I’d love to chat 🙂
