Double Up Bets
This is a project I did for the ICE (Innovation, Creativity, Entrepreneurship) Scholars group. Among my dorm, I noticed many people on the weekends checking their fantasy sports accounts and apps such as ESPN’s Streak for the Cash. I like college football, but I don’t pay attention or care about sports much further than watching the Buckeyes. However, I really did like the idea of winning money for speculating the outcome of real life events. This, paired with the huge public interest in sites like Draft Kings, brought me to the idea of what is tentatively named Double Up Bets.
The idea is essentially ‘betting” for things other than sports. According to our research, most of the people we polled were interested in this idea. They were mostly already familiar with The things they were most interested in speculating were political events (debates, polls, etc.), TV show’s (events, character deaths, plot twists, etc.), Award shows, technology advancement, world events, and more.
Our next steps are developing our Minimally Viable Product to get more haptic feedback via beta testers and reaching out to our potential partners such as advertisers and getting feedback from that customer segment. We are very excited to move forward!
