Year in Review

This semester went faster than I ever could have imagined. Looking back, although it had some twists and turns I am satisfied with my performance academically, socially, and philanthropically. Academically, I finally believe I found a study system that works for me. I had some issues with translating information learned in lecture to questions that would be asked on the test. However, after adjusting to reading textbooks and studying more than I ever had before, I was able to achieve a respectful grade on my last chemistry midterm. Socially, I made a great group of friends that is extremely supportive, hardworking, and of course fun! I was very nervous about making good connections, but now I cannot imagine a better group. I have always enjoyed doing volunteer work, but the experiences volunteering this semester were special. First, through the OWL early arrival program I met many of my friends and had a great time learning about teamwork and the moving process at Ohio State. Additionally, I participated in a Meals on Wheels event. I helped prep a room and food for a special community dinner. This event made me realize how important programs like Meals on Wheels are, and how fortunate I am to be a student at Ohio State and live the life I live. Overall, this first semester of college exceeded my expectations and I am looking forward to continue my education!
