In the archives I found out that Hitchcock Hall opened in 1967 and was built on the former WOSU’s radio tower site. Hitchcock was dedicated in 1967 along with six other buildings. The building was named after Embury A. Hitchcock who was a professor in 1893 and later became the Dean of the College of Engineering from 1920-1936. The building serves as an extension to the Civil Aeronautical Engineering Building.
On the main floor of Hitchcock, there is a lecture hall that has two levels of seating. This is a really nice lecture hall and I have been there for many math midterm exams. Hitchcock Hall is where I am currently taking my Spatial Visualization class. This class is in the basement of the building which has a few seating areas and a vending machine.
Hitchcock Hall is about a 15-minute walk from The Ohio Union Building. I go to Hitchcock every Friday after grabbing something to eat from the Union Market at the Ohio Union Building.
