Journalism Building

Brown Journalism Building
Picture of the Journalism Building that I took.

The Ohio State Archives mentioned that the Journalism Building was completed by July 17th, 1924 and was never officially named. The lantern, the student newspaper, opened their offices in the building in August of 1924. Then later on in 1938, a new wing was added for the campus post office. In 1939 and 1940, small additions were made to connect it to Caldwell Labs. In 1947, the space for the WOSU radio studios was increased.

The Journalism Building is where you go when you need to go to a post office on campus. I go to the Journalism Building for my Knowlton Survey class. This building is actually really nice, especially the lecture hall I have my survey class in. The survey class is a mandatory class for freshman, the only thing that changes with this class is the word before survey. Knowlton survey is the survey class for architecture, landscape architecture, and city and regional planning majors. The Journalism Building is very easy to navigate. There are benches to sit on in the bigger hallways on the third floor and then there is a little sitting area on the first floor.
