With the recent case of an Ohio State student being diagnosed with bacterial meningitis, Student Health Services has received inquiries regarding the availability of the meningitis vaccine on campus for students. Dr. Roger Miller, our Preventive Medicine Physician has provided the following information:
The meningitis vaccine is $117, and is available here at Student Health. You can schedule an appointment just for the vaccine, or it can also be received during most routine appointments for other reasons. Call 292-4321 to schedule an appointment. Depending on how much of your insurance benefit you’ve already used, student health insurance covers up to half of the cost if you receive the vaccine at the Student Health Center (it doesn’t cover it at all if you get the vaccine somewhere else).
