Teams Advancing Health Outcomes, Team Event 1
(Level 2 Students)
Target Audience:
Students who have completed the equivalent of two Level 1 BuckIPE learning experiences and have minimal experience working in interprofessional teams.
BuckIPE Core Competencies addressed:
- Values and Ethics: Work with team members to maintain a climate of shared values, ethical conduct, and mutual respect.
- Roles and Responsibilities: Use the knowledge of one’s own role and team members’ expertise to address health outcomes.
- Communication: Communicate in a responsive, responsible, respectful, and compassionate manner with team members.
- Teams and Teamwork: Apply values and principles of team science to adapt one’s own role in a variety of team settings.
- Evidence-Based Practice: Utilize evidence to inform all aspects of interprofessional teamwork.
- Collaborative Leadership: Engage members of the interprofessional team, including individuals and communities, in collaborative leadership.
Session Dates/Times:
- A: 9/12/25, 12:30-3:00 pm
- B: 9/12/25, 2:30-5:00 pm
- C: 9/19/25, 12:30-3:00 pm
- D: 9/19/25, 2:30-5:00 pm
- E: 9/5/25, 12:30-3:00 pm
- Make-up**: 10/7/25, 5:00 pm-7:30 pm
- Start times will be staggered to accommodate standardized patient timing.
Format:
Through this simulation experience, learners begin to appreciate how interprofessional teamwork addresses multifaceted patient/client needs. Together, they collaborate with a standardized patient to identify and address underlying factors that impact healthcare outcomes and patient experience. They also practice providing peer feedback around select interprofessional collaborative practice competencies.
Facilitator role:
Facilitators model and coach collaborative leadership and interprofessional communication, encourage team members to share, ensure a respectful learning environment, and provide guidance, as needed. Additionally, the facilitator provides formative feedback regarding the interprofessional teamwork observed during the event.
Facilitator to student/team ratio:
1 to 16 students (2 teams)

Required facilitator skills training:
- Complete the Interprofessional Facilitator Skills Training.
- Module Specific Training Video
- Complete the Attestation form for each experience after watching the module-specific training. The attestation form needs to be completed for each experience that you facilitate.
