Associate Conductor Application

There is one (1) opening for an Associate Conductor of The Buckeye Philharmonic Orchestra for the 2019-20 season.

The Associate Conductor of The Buckeye Philharmonic Orchestra is an appointed position. Appointments are made by the Music Director of the season in which the Associate Conductor will serve, aided by the general orchestra.

Responsibilities of the position include leading rehearsals and sectionals at the discretion of the Music Director. The Associate Conductor is expected to be present at all rehearsals and prepared to lead rehearsals and concerts in works assigned by the Music Director or in the event of an absence of the Music Director. The Associate Conductor is also expected to assist with programming decisions and various administrative tasks. The position is a 1-year appointment.

UPDATED: To be considered, applicants MUST be available on FridayApril 5th, 2019 from 5:00pm-7:00pm for a live audition. Applicants are asked to prepare the first movement of Mozart’s Symphony No.29 in A Major K201/186a. Auditionees should be prepared to conduct through and rehearse the entire movement. Each auditionee will receive 20 minutes total time.
