A mandatory Orientation to the Social Work Major will take place at the start of Spring Semester on Thursday, January 4, 2024, at 10am-12pm synchronously online via zoom. This orientation will provide you the opportunity to meet other social work students and our BSSW Program Office (as much as zoom space can allow). We’ll review the social work curriculum including practicum, resources and supports, faculty and academic advising roles, and answer any questions you have as you start the major. This orientation is separate from University Orientation.

Please note that your admission is contingent upon successful completion of all pre-major courses prior to Spring Semester 2024. Inability to meet this condition will void acceptance into the major. Should this occur, you may re-apply by completing a new application. If you are transferring into the social work major from another university, your admission to the major is also contingent upon being admitted to The Ohio State University.
