G.O.A.L.S.

Artifacts

[Artifacts are the items you consider to be representative of your academic interests and achievements. About Me

My name is Amanda Brown and I am a first year at Ohio State University. I am an exercise science/ pre-medicine major and I hope to become a sports medicine doctor someday. From a young age, I was always active and my hobbies included competitive dance, club soccer, basketball, track, and cross-country. I continued these activities in high school but after suffering my fifth concussion, I had to stop playing contact sports. After my unfortunate luck with concussions, I decided to focus my energy on researching concussions and as a result, I worked on two research projects at Michigan State University; one was an observational study involving concussions and another involved the development of more energy-absorbing football helmets. This experience combined with my passion for sports and a competitive environment is why I joined the Dunn Sports and Wellness Scholars.

Besides my passion for sports, I love all types of music! In high school, I was in band and drumline and so I look forward to hearing and watching the band play at OSU. My hobbies include living a healthy lifestyle, exploring the Columbus area, sailing, going to concerts and festivals, and just having fun!
I grew up in East Lansing, Michigan but was born and raised a Buckeye! My mother is a librarian and my father is an astrophysicist and they both graduated from Ohio State. I also have a younger brother and hopefully, he will be a Buckeye soon too.

I look forward to all the amazing opportunities and experiences at Ohio State!
