A Year in Review

I have learned so much from Freshman Year. I came in thinking that I knew who I was when in reality I had no idea. First semester, I had a rude awakening after my first calculus and general chemistry test. Academics wise, I had to relearn how to study and had to really work on my time managements skills. You have to learn self-discipline early in college or else you won’t do as well as you hope. Social life wise, I made some great friends and this was partly due to my morrills scholars program. So, I highly recommend that the first couple of weeks, step out of your comfort zone and really try to meet new people and make connections.  I had to bring out my extroverted side a-lot for the first couple of weeks of school. Also another tip of advice is to network. Networking is key to getting unique positions or just positions that you want. So get to know professors and faculty because they have so many opportunities for students. Although freshman year was a big learning lesson, I enjoyed it alot and can not wait to come back in the fall.

Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio.
