Making corn from paper of recycled prints about corn

A drawing of my brother Jordan. I ask him to send me photos of himself welding and working on the pressure tanks he fabricates at his job, I think what he does is fascinating and he is able to speak about what he does with such certainty and knowledge. I think about all the skills he now knows since finishing his welding school. I am a bit jealous, sometimes.

I’ve been spending time with this block, giving it the care and attention it deserves. Everyday I carve it, we have new conversations, new information gets added or subtracted, new methods are developed. The process has been a companion.

This print was made for an exchange that Michael Weigman and Myself coordinated. We brought together some of the most prolific printmakers in Ohio. This was the last time we as makers were all together. It seems so far away. For now.
