B2H contributes to safer, healthier, vibrant, sustainable, and innovative communities (USDA Science Blueprint Theme 5) using a community-based participatory approach that integrates technology and intergenerational strategies. Teens and older adults will build life skills through peer and intergenerational mentoring coordinated by Extension and community partners.
Long-term, the B2H communities will have better coordinated, sustainable services reflecting community needs.
Short-term results supportive of long-term goals include:
- Teens and older adult mentors will demonstrate increased resilience.
- Teen and older adult mentors will demonstrate increased life skills.
- Teen and older adult mentors will report increases in social support.
- Stakeholders will engage consistently and frequently to shape the B2H process ad programming.
