BRIDGE2Health utilizes a community-based participatory research (CBPR) approach to improve teen and adult mentors’ resilience and health through intergenerational mentoring. 4-H programming takes place in Cuyahoga County, Ohio and Amherst County, Virginia. Our efforts directly engage stakeholders in problem-definition, programming, evaluation, and sustainability. Together, we develop an intergenerational program guided by curriculum. In addition, we promote strong partnerships in each community to foster program sustainability. Short-term goals include forming trusting, supportive relationships and building positive life skills. Long-term goals include formation of sustainable community partnerships where members are equipped with appropriate intergenerational strategies to respond to evolving needs and resources.
