Career

One experience I have had at Ohio State that will apply to a future co-op/internship or career would be the Advanced Energy Vehicle project.  I completed this project in a group of four people throughout the second semester of my first year.  The project tasked our group with trying to design an Advanced Energy Vehicle (AEV) that could efficiently complete a given mission around a track that hung from the ceiling of the classroom.  The project truly seemed as if it were a simulation of a job that could be given in a workplace, because each individual group was given full control over the design of their AEV, coding for their AEV, and the overall development of their project.  This independence was very refreshing, and it really felt as if our group was working as co-workers troubleshooting problems class after class until we finally completed the mission with our AEV.  I ended up taking a primary role in the coding of the AEV and the professional writing that our group completed.  Although our group did not end up winning the competition against the other groups in our class, we were still able to produce an energy efficient AEV that finished as one of the top in the class.
