Hamburg, Germany – May 2018 Study Abroad

I spent 2 weeks in Germany while taking logistics and visiting leaders in manufacturing, experts in logistics, etc. I immersed in diversity and inclusion, learned new culture and worked on a project with a group of students.

Berlin was really fun!!! Although I did spend most of my time eating good food, I enjoyed learning about the History of Berlin. I went to the Sony Center which is an impressive building located at the Potsdamer Platz. I appreciate its historic significance, and it’s amazing with so many things to do.

Kozue said, “It’s good in getting used to taking yourself to KLU because it’s an experience”. I was shy at first, but finally I decided to open my eyes to discover a lot of great things before the end of this program.

The dialogue in the dark is one of my favorite experience! I was in a very dark place with my friends and we only could’ve hear sounds. My experience from this student activity is to be grateful for everything.

Thank you to my team members who were very impressive and I learned a lot from them! They are friendly, encouraging and motivated when it came to doing our research projects. This presentation is one of the most significant because I was able to gain greater experience. I was able to present and work on something I am truly interested: Global Logistics of Water. I valued the presentation and I know it has prepared me at some point in the future.

Pay it Forward

I went to the Mid-Ohio Foodbank Kroger Community Pantry where I volunteered for few hours. I was surprised to find out how hunger is affecting my community. I thought that only a few sides of the world need food, but I learned that so many countries do face hunger issue within its population. We, the younger adults, shall work hard and fight against the economic crisis that the world is facing. We must learn, gain experiences, skills and start combining our thoughts to save our world.

Accounting Career Awarness Program

The Accounting Career Awareness is week-long program that introduced me to accounting, finance and leadership. I got the chance to network and visit a lot of companies. I attended workshops, tours, discussions, business luncheon, mentoring session and college fair. Business leaders such as entrepreneurs have shared experiences and tip to reach success. I received an ACAP-Ohio 2017 college scholarship sponsored by The Fisher College of Business. My active participation throughout the one week program, my positive attitude and my essay, contributed to my selection for this award.

Leadership Collaborative

The Leadership Collaborative was a week program where I explore leadership while connecting with peers, upperclass students, and leaders at the university and in the community. I learn how to successfully navigate my college experience and discover how to make a difference not only at The Ohio State University, but within the society. I was taught how to become a leader. Through the program, I learned that leaders don’t need position, we need to make a difference in people’s live. The program was engaging. There were inspiring speeches and I made a lot of connections. I got the chance to have a conversation with the President of Columbus Council on World Affairs. I expressed to Petrick Terrien my interest toward global leadership and I decide to join the organization Columbus Council on World Affairs at OSU.

Year in Review

[ “Year in Review”  is where you should reflect on the past year and show how you have evolved as a person and as a student.  You may want to focus on your growth in a particular area (as a leader, scholar, researcher, etc.) or you may want to talk about your overall experience over the past year.  For more information, go to: http://honors-scholars.osu.edu/e-portfolio.
