Solar Roads Presentation

The attached file is a power point presentation on solar roads. The presentation was created for my Green Engineering course that focused on sustainability and conservation within engineering. The topic my group presented on was solar roads, a newer concept studied and tested on a small scale, but with the potential to eliminate reliance on fossil fuels in the future. The presentation goes over past and current designs for solar roads, and the efficiency and cost of these designs. It further looks at the potential benefits of these roads not just associated with the clean energy, but with a similar concept of solar rooftops. The goal of the presentation is to make an impact on the audience to get them thinking about solar roads and the idea of sustainable innovation in general.

About Me

I was born and raised in Westborough, MA, a small town about 30 miles outside of Boston. I was raised by my two parents, Rich and Deb, and have an older sister, Jessica. I attended Westborough High School graduating with the class of 2016. While attending, I participated in many different clubs such as the National Honor Society, Student Council, and the Philosophy Club. I have a passion for sports and was the captain of the varsity lacrosse team and played varsity basketball as well. Outside of school, I enjoy mountain biking, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. I’m a huge Boston sports fan and am constantly rooting for the Red Sox, Bruins, Celtics, and Patriots.

I currently attend college at The Ohio State University, majoring in Biomedical Engineering. I plan to pursue the degree with a special interest in tissue engineering, but am planning to explore all that BME has to offer. I am a member of the Green Engineering Scholars program and play on the university’s Men’s Club Lacrosse Team. In the future, I hope to go to medical school and pursue a career in the medical field.
