Throughout my experience
at Ohio State so far, I have faced some difficulty adjusting to the differences in course material and teaching style from high school. The main issue that I’ve found in the classes I struggle with is the lack of interest. However, my French class has allowed me to grow my knowledge even greater than I thought I ever would in the subject. I was very uneasy at the fact that I had to take more French classes at college but this experience has actually opened my eyes to what I am really interested in learning about.
I took French from sixth grade up until 10th grade in high school. Throughout this time, I never actually found the relevance in learning the material and really exploring the language as a whole. Although I am currently undecided, I have decided that I want to switch into Fischer College of Business which does not require a language. Because of my fast-grown interest in the course however, I decided to continue on this path and take the next section of the language. Since taking this class, I am highly considering adding French as a minor to my degree.
