Professional Development Committee:
The goal of the professional development committee is to provide students with opportunities for professional growth and networking. Through online resources such as checklists and events such as company info sessions or lab tours, we ensure the students are prepared for any path they choose after graduation: industry, grad school, or med school. The committee is also responsible for obtaining corporate sponsorship that will allow BMES to grow and expand the number and size of events.
The committee meets once a month at a time and place decided at a previous meeting. Joining this committee is an excellent opportunity to brush up on your communication skills and get more involved-everyone is encouraged to join! For questions, or to join, please contact Marissa (firstname.lastname@example.org), the committee chair.
Mentorship and Social Events Committee:
The Mentorship and Social Events Committee’s job is to maintain and innovate our award winning Mentorship Program. By coming up with new ways to help students, and by staying on top of what resources are available to students; they aim to always have answers to your questions. Additionally, this committee helps plan social events for our members. It is our goal to establish a community amongst those in BMES, and this committee plays a tremendous role in forming that relationship, and presenting as many learning opportunities as possible. Those interested in this committee should contact Connor (email@example.com), the Internal Vice President.
