Hello world!

THE FINAL DOCUMENT

What has been a dream of mine for many years is finally coming together. Ever since I watched Annie as a small child, I knew I wanted to be a foster or an adoptive parent. I started the process many times and talked myself out of it. When Covid hit, and the world was finding a new normal, I had plenty of time to ponder where I was with the idea of foster parenting. Covid may have shut down many parts of our lives, but the ability to do things online, and the social acceptance of online learning and communication, opened up the opportunity to complete my pre-service training online. I was now able to complete all the classes without feeling I was neglecting my own kids in the process. I completed my classes at the end of February, and then started the tedious process of completing the paperwork and background checks. I am happy to announce that Today I turned in my last document. YAY!! Tuesday is my safety check visit, where we will sign all the papers, and our social worker will submit our file to the state. Because of the insurmountable number of cases they have had over the last year, the state is processing applications within about two weeks. I am looking forward to a new path, and can’t wait to share the journey with my boys and the children that God places in our home.
