I am a Tier 1 Service Desk Analyst at the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) for The Ohio State University based in Columbus, OH. Everyday I help one (typically more) of the 91,000 faculty, staff, or student users that I support.
I am the gentleman who helps you with resetting your OSU internet username password when you call 614-688-HELP (4357) or with configuring your new Mac Book Pro to the OSUWIRELESS network when you visit us at the Buckeye Bar.
I’ve been fortunate enough to work in various IT roles at OSU for the last five years while I was a student and now as a staff member at OCIO. I’m well versed in various Windows, Mac OS operating systems. And a bit of Linux too.
My goal with everyone I work with is to not treat you as faceless user “smith.1” , but rather as valued customer “John Smith, who works in the English department”. Someone who wants to seek out our help when needed and doesn’t dread calling 8-HELP.
If I’m on campus but not at work you can typically find me somewhere in Thompson Library working through a book on Pakistan or Yemen. If I’m off-campus I’m probably working on the high score on Monopoly pinball at 16-bit.
