About the Organization

The Buckeye Biotechnology Association is the first student-run organization to promote unity among life science, engineering, and business disciplines. The organization seeks to connect undergraduate students to graduates students, faculty, and area business leaders through a formal mentoring program and bi-weekly programming. Buckeye Biotechnology Association events are created with the purpose of taking knowledge learned in the classroom and making it applicable to an industry career in biotechnology.

Our Mission

The Buckeye Biotechnology Association is a student-run organization that promotes biotechnology visibility and professional development through speaker seminars, university department engagement, and mentoring. The organization also serves as a connection between academia and industry through programming.

Biotechnology in Ohio

According to BioOhio, Ohio’s non-profit organization representing bioscience in the Buckeye State, there are nearly 79,000 employees at bioscience firms in Ohio. The largest of these organizations include firms regularly represented on the Fortune 500, such as Abbott and Cardinal Health. Bioscience employees in Ohio earn $73,897 on average, with $5.83 billion in payroll being generated every year in Ohio Bioscience firms.
