Dr. Ross Maltz is an assistant professor in pediatric gastroenterology in the Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Dr. Maltz is the project lead for this educational material. He is a leader in clinical research, quality improvement, and strong advocate in health care policy to impact cost of care and access to care for all. His research focuses on evaluating the efficacy and safety of biosimilars vs the originator in children with inflammation bowel disease, the impact biosimilars have on cost of care, and the perspective of pediatric patients, caregivers, and pediatric gastroenterology provider’s on biosimilars.

Dr. Megan McNicol is an advanced patient care pharmacist in the Specialty Pharmacy and Department of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Her primary focus is on medication access and patient education for patients with inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. McNicol has been involved in numerous research efforts surrounding biosimilar utilization, implementation, cost-savings, and education for both patients and providers. Dr. McNicol has been involved in the development of the educational materials presented in this website.

Dr. Jeff Barbee is the Director of the Office of Curriculum and Scholarship (OCS), housed in the College of Medicine at OSU. This unit is an 11-person office that includes two research specialists, a research associate, and instructional designers who provide services in the areas of educational research, curriculum design, and digital accessibility. Numerous stakeholders utilize the Office of Curriculum and Scholarship on regular basis to design, implement, and disseminate research studies and their findings. The office is also instrumental in ensuring courses and materials across the college are digitally accessible for all learners. Dr. Barbee consulted on this project as part of the research team.

Dr. Jaclyn Gish-Lieberman is an Instructional Designer Senior Specialist at the Office of Curriculum and Scholarship at The Ohio State University. She is the lead designer for the educational material presented in this website. Dr. Gish-Lieberman frequently designs, develops, and evaluates educational materials for clinical faculty professional development including enhancing instructional and educational research skill sets. Her strength in visualizing complex concepts and extensive experience with developing and testing virtual learning environments serves to create effective and engaging learning materials.
