We would place the Scarlet Plaque for Bertha Bouroncle at The James Cancer Hospital. She helped to found the hospital in 1990 and her legacy now lives on in the groundbreaking work of the James, which has recently been given an “exceptional” rating by the National Cancer Institute, and has been recognized as a model of patient care by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
