National Honor Society- Service has always been a big part of my life throughout high school and grade school. Once I joined NHS, I was able to find different areas of service and broaden my service experience. Through NHS, I was able to volunteer at a service program called MERF (McAuley Emergency Relief Fund) meals. MERF meals consisted of a group of students who collected canned goods and boxed food to put together meals for the various holidays. During MERF meals, I was able to see how giving back to the community really effects those whom you are giving to. I can now use my knowledge and experience of service and farther apply it to the service in HES. By seeing the joy that giving back brings to people, I have made service a big part of my life and hope to do many service projects through HES.
