Women In Medicine- While I was in high school, I had no idea what I wanted to do in the future or what major to decide on for college. When I was a sophomore, I was invited to apply for the Women In program at my high school. This program has four main domains: Women In Medicine, Women In Law, Women In Engineering, and Women In Technology. I was struggling between Women In Medicine or Women In Engineering, but decided on Women in Medicine with the thought of Med-School in my future; and I’m glad I did! Women In Medicine consisted of monthly seminars to the various fields of medicine and what they contribute to the field. Through these seminars, I was able to find the field of BME and see how it relates the things I love about the medical field with the things I love about engineering. With further research, I was able to conclude that BME is a great precursor for Med-School and exposes me to engineering. I will forever be thankful for the opportunity to explore all that is offered through the connections of the medical field and the engineering field.
