Artifacts

I had a nice chat with my PSL mentor, Kaleigh Murphy, last week. We first discussed  her thoughts on the PSL program as a whole. Kaleigh told me that I will “get out of [PSL Scholars] what I put into it” and advised me to invest myself into the program. We next discussed her academic interests. Like myself, she is majoring in political science with a focus in pre-law, and is interested in attending law school. Unlike me however, Kaleigh is also minoring in spanish and business, which inspires me to potentially pursue a double major or to add a minor. I also had the opportunity to ask Kaleigh about the classes she is taking this semester. She told me that her favorite class so far is Civil Liberties, and that although the class is difficult, it is very interesting. When the discussion turned to extracurricular activities, Kaleigh told me about her work with Fight4Her, a national organization concerned with protecting women’s reproductive rights. She mentioned that she attended protests, and went to a courthouse during an abortion related hearing. Kaleigh also told me about her experience as an intern at the Ohio House of Representatives, and gave me resources so that I could apply to intern there myself.
