Being apart of the Biological Sciences Scholars Program, I have been given the opportunity to engage in many different research visits of the many researches on campus. One particular visit was to Dr. Mark Merrick’s research lab. There he was conducting research that could potentially affect health and rehabilitation sciences and focused on injury pathophysiology and therapeutic modalities. At this visit, he showed us a more improved technique he was developing that would better heal cramps that athletes might experience during their games.
At this visit, I realized how important conducting research was and how much I wanted to be involve in something like this. Although I am still a freshman and have yet to engage in a research project, I do help that as my years at this university continue, that I will be able to participate in something that could potentially help improve modern medicine
