In Lab 1 the objective was to create three different types of transportation carts to compare to consider as a final idea to propose to the National Park. Each idea had to be a different type of transportation device, another requirement from the National Park is that one of the designs had to be a monorail since they already had a rail system for a monorail cart. After each individual working on the different designs the three creations were a bus, train and then a monorail. The different view created for all three designs are shown below.
After the completion of the designs all the sketches were discussed. The pros of the bus were that it was energy efficient since it was designed to be powered by solar panels, but a con was that the since it was not running on a trail the code needed for it to run correctly would be complex and could lead to environmental and wildlife risks. A pro found for the train was that it did not need a complex control system since it would be running on a track. A con though was that since a track was not made in the park yet the construction of a track system would need to be done to implement the train cart idea. The finally the pros to the monorail was that one there is already a rail system in place in the park. The only con of the monorail idea was that it could have the potential to harm airborne inhabitants in the park if they flew into the cart or the rail. In the end the idea chosen for the final sketch to move on in the project was the monorail since it had the most pros to it and since there was already a rail system in place in the park.
