Small Farm Manure Management Featured at Expo

There is something for livestock producers of every size this year at the North American Manure Expo in London, Ohio August 3-4, 2016. The Expo begins with three tour options including composting, dairy and beef farms. Grazing operations may find the beef tour interesting as the tour looks at grazing management strategies Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park uses for buffalo and how a beef feedlot incorporates intensive grazing management. After the tours return to the expo site, attendees can visit with over 90 exhibitors participating in the trade show. Educational sessions being at 5:00pm and include a Small Farm Manure Management session that addresses topics such as Nutrient Management 101, Side dressing Corn with Manure, and Manure and Nutrient Management for Horse Owners. The Cover Crops session may also be of interest to many farmers in attendance.

Educational sessions continue on Thursday, August 4th along with solid and liquid manure application demonstrations. The expo is free to attend; the only cost is participation in the tours.
