2015 Ohio Cattlemen’s Association Replacement Female Sale Approaching

On Friday evening, November 27, the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) will be hosting their third annual Replacement Female Sale. The sale will be held at the Muskingum Livestock facility in Zanesville and will start at 6:00 p.m. A strong set of high quality replacement females will sell. The following is a listing of the consignments that will be featured in the sale.

Acheson Farm, Belle Center, OH
– 15 Angus and crossbred bred heifers due to calve between Feb. 16 and April 28, 2016. One heifer is bred to the Angus bull WWSC Slider, the Maine-Anjou bulls Daddy’s Money, HETN No Worries 138Z, MCCF Jackson, and the remainder are bred to a purebred Simmental bull that is a son of MR HOC Broker.

Phil Altstaetter, Bellefontaine, OH
– 6 Angus-cross three- and four-year-old cows. 5 are artificially bred to calve on March 10 or 22, 2016 to the Angus bulls Bon View New Design 878, Connealy Lead On, PA Power Tool 9108, or Quaker Hill Rampage 0A36. One cow is due May 11, 2016 to the Red Angus bull SCC 9275 EBV Victor.

Berry Farms, Cable, OH
– 2 registered Angus heifers artificially bred to the Angus bull Connealy Comrade 1385 and exposed to a registered Angus bull due to calve between April 9 through mid-May.

Bitter-Sweet Farm, Greenfield, OH
– 6 Angus cross heifers, 4 of which are artificially bred to calve in early March, 2016 to the Angus bulls Hoover Dam, PA Power Tool 9108, Quaker Hill Rampage 0A36, and Stevenson Rockmount RX933. Two heifers are exposed to registered Angus bulls due to calve in April, 2016.

– 2 purebred Simmental three-year-old cows bred to Simmental-Angus bulls E & D Lazor and TJSC Optimus Prime 12W due March 24 and April 7, 2016. These cows were pasture exposed to the Simmental-Angus bull E & D Lazor to calve between March 24 and May 10, 2016.
Also selling one purebred Simmental heifer bred to the Simmental bull MR NLC Upgrade U8676 with sexed heifer semen due March 11, 2016. The heifer is pasture exposed to the Simmental bull RHFS Royal Man B27H to calve between March 15 and May 10, 2016.

Fennewald Acres, LLC, Greenwich, OH
– 4 Polled Hereford heifers bred artificially to the Polled Hereford bulls Boyd Worldwide 9050 ET and TH 122 71I Victor 719T due February 23, 2016. Pasture exposed to the Polled Hereford bull CSP Game Day to calve between March 15 and May 26, 2016.

Haley Farms, West Salem, OH
– 3 purebred Simmental three-year old cows and one two-year-old 75% Simmental-25% Red Angus cow bred to the purebred Simmental bull Haleys BNS Y137 due to calve between February 13 and May 10, 2016. Also selling one purebred registered Red Angus three-year-old cow bred to the purebred Simmental bull FSCI Desa Raes Rain due to calve February 26, 2016.

Karr Farms, Pomeroy, OH
– 3 purebred Red Angus two-year old cows and one three-year-old cow. Bred artificially to the Red Angus bulls BJR Monu 4X-303 and Andras New Direction R240 due March 27, 2016. Pasture exposed to the Red Angus bulls Karr Mulberry A011 and KRFM Slightly Mine Z376 to calve between April 11 and June 16, 2016. Also selling 4 purebred Red Angus and 2 Red Angus-Simmental heifers bred artificially to the Red Angus bulls BJR Monu 4X-303, Andras New Direction R240, HXC Jackhammer 8800U, and LCHMN Grandcanyon 1244G due to calve March 6 or March 27. Pasture exposed to the Red Angus bulls Karr Mulberry A011 and KRFM Slightly Mine Z376 to calve between April 3 and June 16, 2016.

– 14 Simmental-Angus cross heifers due to calve between March 4 and April 5, 2016. 7 of these heifers are artificially bred to the Angus bulls S A V Final Answer 0035 and PA Fortitude 2500 and the remainder are bred to the Angus bull MARS Trust 4837. Also selling 4 purebred Angus cows due to calve between March 20 and April 25, 2016. One is bred artificially to the Angus bull PA Fortitude 2500 and the remainder are bred to the Angus bull KSW Classic 308.

OARDC Eastern Agricultural Research Station, Caldwell, OH
– 12 Angus, Simmental, and Red Angus crossbred heifers due to calve between April 21 and May 21, 2016. All of the heifers are bred to the Angus bull TOSU Regis 2319.

Ohio Dept. of Rehabilitation and Corrections, Mansfield, OH
– 9 registered Angus heifers artificially bred to the Angus bulls A & B SpotLite 3065, GDAR Heisman 1705, and Welytok Charter 3B20 due March 28, 2016. Pasture exposed to the Angus bulls Claylick Run Confidence B029 and Manci Heisman 4022 to calve between April 14 and May 30, 2016.

– 2 two-year old purebred Simmental cows bred to CDI Rimrock 325Z due February 27, 2016.

– 2 Simmental-Angus heifers bred to the Simmental-Angus bull GW Robust 605Z due March 8, 2016. Also selling one Mainetainer heifer bred to the Simmental-Angus bull SDS In Force 112Y due March 4, 2016.

The Ohio State University Beef Center, Columbus, OH
– 18 Simmental-Angus heifers due to calve between February 24 and April 24, 2016. 3 females are bred artificially to A & B SpotLite 3065 and Hoover Elation and the remaining females are bred to the Angus Bull TOSU Capitalist 4308.
