Beware of Potential Issues With Acorn Poisoning

Last week during a gathering of cattlemen and beef cattle industry representatives I attended there was conversation about the seemingly abundant crop of acorns in Ohio this year. That being said, acorn consumption and poisoning can become a concern in pastured beef cattle, especially rapidly growing calves in the 400 to 700 pound range that might still be out on pastures which have oaks trees in or around them.
