ABET(2): Design

ABET(2) Design: is the process of devising a system, component, or process to meet desired needs. (www.abet.org proposed for 2016-2017).

The document I have selected for ABET(2): Design is a profit analysis of a plot of land being developed.  This profit analysis project required a plot of land to be sectioned out into plots of land to put houses on.  Designing the plot of land involved putting streets in and creating lots around the streets for the homes. The size of the plots for each house were based of the area around this development.  This analysis took into account the cost to buy the land, the cost to build each house on each plot, the cost of the streets being put in, and the profit that can be made off each house after being sold.  The goal for this design project was to make the most money off of the plot of land.  After designing the development of the land, the sale prices were determined based off of average sales around the area.  The analysis included in this design shows how more profit could have been made by making smaller plots and also different ways this plot could have been developed better.  This profit analysis demonstrates design by developing a plot of land to meet the needs of a community and the desired max profit.  Below you can find the profit analysis of the parcel of land.
