Carpe Aquam Swim Cap-

Freshman year of high school I tried out for the swim team after never having swam competitively before. I ended up making the team after two weeks of conditioning and two years later made the varsity team. This swim cap was given to me in my first year of swimming by the head coach. The coach picks one swimmer a month who has shown hard work and dedication and they receive a silver swim cap with “Carpe Aquam” meaning “Seize the Water” printed on the side. Making the swim team has been  one of my greatest accomplishments thus far in life and the swim cap is a symbol of this. I learned how hard work and dedication can get you places.

Buckeye Necklace-

At easter earlier this year, I announced to my extended family that I would be attending OSU. In preparation for this, my aunt had pre-bought a buckeye necklace. This was the first piece of OSU spirit wear that I received. It made me think of all that I have done and how far I have come but also how far I have yet to go. I realized that I have set myself up for a bright future by going to OSU and I am excited to see what my future has in store.
