About Me

Hello! My name is Peyton Batiato and I am a first year undergraduate student in the College of Arts and Sciences. I’m a Politics, Society, and Law Scholar, and am currently planning to double major in political science and communications on the pre-law track.

In high school, I was involved in numerous clubs and held multiple leadership positions. I was the Vice President of Debate on the first place, nationally ranked Model United Nations public school team as well as a cheer captain on the Varsity Cheerleading team. In addition to these positions, I was the Founder and President of the GCHS Make-A-Wish Club. I was also a member of the National Honor Society, a candidate for the Cambridge Laureate Program, and the Student-Director for the Marco Island Fire Foundation.

At Ohio State, I believe I have found my niche. Before school began, I participated in the First Year Experience Leadership Collaborative. I will forever be indebted to this program and the amazing friends and mentors it led me to meet. Coming as an out-of-state student from Naples, Florida, I knew no one at OSU and was scared the transition would be lonely. Going to Leadership Collaborative two weeks before school started allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and meet new people who were in the same situation I was.

As a first-year, I also joined the Undergraduate Student Government and its Interns Program. I am apart of the Health and Safety Committee, and am dedicated to bettering the campus and surrounding community. Some of my main concerns and focuses as a part of the H&S Committee are mental health and suicide prevention. I am also helping to plan speakers and booths for a Safety Town Hall in the second semester.

Stay tuned for some updates on the rest of my year…
