Module 7: Maintaining Motivation

  • What is the most useful thing I learned in this module?

The most useful thing that I have learned from this module is just reflecting on everything that I have learned from this course and hoping I can make the changes I have currently made for a long time after this as well. I will continue to set goals for myself and work hard and stay on a schedule where I am not finding myself falling behind.

  • What is a specific example of something from this module I have already put into practice? How did it work out?

Something that I have already put into practice is keeping up with my schedule and not falling behind like I just mentioned. I have a clear view of how I want to maintain my time and how I want to spend it.

  • What ideas from this module could I put into practice in the future? How?

The ideas from this module that I could work to fit in with my future is just remembering the key aspects that I took from this course and always making the best out of my tasks and challenges.

  • What advice would I give to students (or working professionals), based on what I’ve read or experienced during this module?

Advice that I may give out is to recommend this course to a friend if they find theirselves in a tough situation with being more professional and spending their time.

Module 6: Searching and Researching

  • What is the most useful thing I learned in this module?

The most useful thing that I learned in this module is knowing when a site is credible and where to look and how to look and what information you should see to know its not an outdated non-trustworthy source.

  • What is a specific example of something from this module I have already put into practice? How did it work out?

Something that I have already put into practice in this module is what I stated above on how to find a legitimate source. I found a source from the government and it was clear to me that it was a trustworthy source because what more do you need when its coming from a federal agency.

  • What ideas from this module could I put into practice in the future? How?

Things that I could put into practice for the future is looking for the information of what makes a source credible and how to research at a more advanced and intellectual way than what I already do now. I will be able to grow and prosper with the information that I have learned and been provided with and feel like I could research anything now.

  • What advice would I give to students (or working professionals), based on what I’ve read or experienced during this module?

Advice that I would give to other students is do your research before you do your research. What I am trying to say is do research on the sites before you actually continue with that site.

Module 4: Web-Enhanced Reading and Study Strategies

In this weeks module I learned a lot as such as the different sources that many people use and the sources that people found. I had a lot in common as I read the discussion with all of the other students while they use some of the same sites as I do. I learned some good strategies and resources to use when it comes to studying, learning and may other things that are useful. I had a lot in common with the people who use the sites like Quizlet, Duolingo and Chegg because those are sites that I quite frequently use to study or go to for help when I am trying to learn.

Coming from sources that I haven’t ever heard of which were some of the ones listed in the lesson: I never really realized that there were that many sources that I could use to study. I guess I need to explore more and find a the page that best fits me when it comes to my studies. I use Quizlet a lot to study but I feel like with the new sources I came across, there could be potentially one better out there for me and the way that I learn.

Module 3: Efficiency in the Digital Age

What is the most useful thing I learned in this module?

The most useful thing that I learned in this module is learning about digital distraction and how to avoid it. Digital distraction is something that is present with probably over 50% of students. I find myself distracted from social media when I am trying to utilize my time with just my school work but it has turned into a habit for me to look at my phone. I think that for people to get things done better and more efficiently is to limit themselves to how long or what they are distracting themselves from. This is also huge on time management which is also something I wanted to touch on from this module.

What is a specific example of something from this module I have already put into practice? How did it work out?

The whole time tracking idea is something that is already taken into practice for me. I have been much more beneficial with my time and I actually know for once when I should work on things and complete things.

What ideas from this module could I put into practice in the future? How?

Continuing from the google sheet we created of our list of tasks, reminders, events, etc. I plan to use this for quite some time until there’s no need for it anymore. I think that this will be very helpful for me and staying on top of my time in the future.

What advice would I give to students (or working professionals), based on what I’ve read or experienced during this module?

That if one struggles with time management– make a schedule. If one struggles with digital distractions– turn off the phone or put on do not disturb.

First Post! Module 2: Communicating and Collaborating

One of the most useful things that I learned from Module 2 was learning to create that spreadsheet of the 7 day time tracking technique. This will help me be more organized than I already am. It will help me with the things I want to complete and the goals that I want to set for myself. With having this new technique and something to look to when I feel like I have nothing to do, I can look at my schedule and find something useful to do or if I am ever lost I can look at what needs to be done.

With that being said, I would like to take what I have learned and encourage other students to create a plan for themselves also so they can stay on top of things and have control and to feel in control of things. I wish I was introduced to this earlier because it really will help people like me to get their work done at a better pace and to not finish things at the last moment.

What I would also like to encourage for other students is that emailing is so much different than texting. Emailing is a more professional way of communicating and I learned that a bit ago. Having proper etiquette is very important in the job life and just looks better in general for whatever the purpose may be. It is very important to be mature with the way you interact and what you say to people because if not it will look bad on you.
