My postdoctoral training was completed under Dr. Michael Goldberger at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1991, followed by training with Drs. Jacqueline Bresnahan and Michael Beattie at the Ohio State University in 1992. I worked for a year at the Ohio State University, in 1995, as a Research Scientist. Then, I was hired as an assistant professor 1996 at Ohio State University in the school of Allied Medical Professional for the division of Physical Therapy. I was tenured in 2002 and promoted to Associate professor. I attained full professorship for the school of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in 2008. During this time, I was also promoted to the director of research for the school of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Currently, my lab works within the Center for Brain and Spinal Cord Repair at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. I also am the Director of the Neuro Recovery Network which assists in clinical trials for people with paralysis.

Graduate Students

Tim Faw: Graduate Student (2013-Present)
Timothy Faw received his BS in Exercise Science from Pfeiffer University in 2005 and a clinical doctorate in Physical Therapy from Duke University in 2009. He completed a post-professional clinical residency in Neurologic Physical Therapy through The University of Southern California and Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center in 2010 and became certified through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2011 as a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Neurologic Physical Therapy. Currently, Tim is a Graduate Fellow and NIH Predoctoral Training Fellow researching both rodent models and clinical techniques for translational research across species to examine the role of motor learning-induced myelin plasticity in recovery from CNS trauma in rodents and humans.

Stephen Vidman: Professional Student (2019-Present)
