About Me

Hello and welcome to my ePortfolio. My name is Mayle Barr and I am from Naperville, IL. I decided to attend Ohio State because I wanted to go to a college with a fantastic business school, that was close to a big city, and had a great football team. Ohio State fulfilled all these requirements and I have found it to be a great fit for me. I am an accounting specialization in the Fisher College of Business and I hope to graduate in May 2022 being eligible to sit for the CPA with 150 credit hours. I am still deciding what I want to do with my extra credit hours, but I am currently considering the Combined BSBA/MAcc program in Fisher. After graduation I would liked to work for a Big Four Accounting Firm in their tax division. I plan to take my second semester junior off to complete a busy season internship with a Big Four firm and hopefully secure my full time offer from that. During my college career I would love to study abroad. I would like to complete the STEP program during my sophomore year and use to funds to go on the Global Non-Profit Project to South Africa. I have always wanted to travel and I think this trip would be a great opportunity to combine service, business, and exploring new parts of the world. On campus I am involved in the Business Scholars Program, the Accounting Association Executive Board, Cru, Hall Council Executive Board, the EY Signature Series Cohort, WINning with Deloitte, Buckeye Leadership Fellow Foundations Program, and Student-Alumni Council. All of these organizations have taught me skills that I know have better prepared me for my future career.
