For my artifact I chose a picture of a service event from high school. Pictured is the rotary run club, called Interact, at one of our yearly events. We would make blankets and cards around the holidays to give as presents to children in the local Akron Children’s Hospital. This club was one of my favorite activities in high school and helped me get involved with volunteering and leadership. I was one of the officers for the club and truly loved all the work we did. Interact helped me realize I would be a good fit in Mount and pushed me to apply. Without my experiences in Interact I wouldn’t be in this scholars program today. I experienced so many volunteering opportunities through Interact and learned a lot. It taught me how to lead, the importance of teamwork, how to truly make an impact, and made me more sociable. Through Interact I developed into who I am today and this picture represents one of my defining moments. ARTIFACT
