At the Baker Lab, we are relentlessly focused on saving lives. Led by Justin C. Baker, PhD, ABPP, our team investigates the complex factors that drive suicide risk and works to advance cutting-edge, evidence-based treatments for PTSD and suicide. We are equally committed to transforming how mental health providers are trained—scaling expert-led suicide prevention education so it’s accessible to every clinician. The Baker Lab is a proud member of the Suicide and Trauma Reduction InitiatiVE (STRIVE) Collaborative at The Ohio State University, the nation’s only research institute exclusively dedicated to improving clinical care for suicide, PTSD, and firearm violence. Through STRIVE, we collaborate across disciplines to lead innovative clinical and translational research that makes an immediate impact on individuals and communities.
