Artifacts

[Artifacts are the items you consider to be representative of your academic interests and achievements. About Me

Hi! My name is Kara Baetz. I’m from Clinvontille, Columbus, Ohio. I have lived in Columbus my whole life, but I am the only one in my family to have been born in Ohio!

I graduated from Bishop Watterson High School. I played volleyball until the end of my sophomore year of high school, and I ran cross country junior and senior year of high school. I still love to play volleyball and have been on an intramural volleyball team for the past year. In my free time, I like to run and train for races. During quarantine, I trained for my first half marathon, which I completed at the end of August 2020. I have been around dogs since I was little, so I am a big dog person. I love any opportunity to be around dogs! I have two German Shepherd dogs named Cleo and Gus. I am involved in Buckeyes for Baking, a baking and service club here on campus, and I am on the Leadership Council for  STEM Scholars. I’m also involved in BuckeyeThon and am currently the Team Captain for the STEM EE Scholars BuckeyeThon team! 

I am a second-year majoring in Neuroscience with the plan of going to Medical School and becoming a physician. For my Second-Year STEM Scholar Capstone Project, I am a research volunteer in a neuroscience research lab in the Institute of Behavioral Medicine Research building on Medical Campus.
