Artifacts

My artifact is a picture of me and my friends at the Undergraduate Business Women’s Association fall social.  The fall social was the first social event of the year and I got to know the girls in the organization better at this event. UBWA was the first student organization I joined here at Ohio State and it has taught me a lot about professional development and about what it means to be a woman in the business world. This club has had a positive impact on my life because it has given me strong female role models who are passionate about similar things as me. Each meeting is very inspiring as various women from the business world come and share their experiences with us.  Not only has this organization helped me professionally but it has also given me a supportive community of girls to lean on.

About Me

My name is Nicki Baehre, and I am a freshman at The Ohio State University. I am planning on majoring in Finance and minoring in Business Analytics but I have been exploring the idea of changing my major to Data Analytics. I am taking two classes this semester that are prerequisites for Data Analytics and I am hoping these classes will give me a better idea of what I want my future job to look like.

Here at Ohio State, I am a part of Business Scholars which is a living learning community focused on professional development. I am a member of Undergraduate Business Women’s Association which is an organization that focusses on women’s empowerment and professional development. I am also starting College Mentors for Kids this semester, which I am very excited about! I will be paired with an elementary school student from Weinland Park and I will have the opportunity to mentor him or her as we engage in various activities that promote higher education. In the future, I hope to join more organizations here on campus, explore the Short North and downtown Columbus, and travel abroad.
