Introduction

While it may seem futuristic or unrealistic, to some, autonomous vehicles are in the future to improve the safety, speed, and reliability of transportation.  The dream of having driver less car may seem like a far off reality, but as it stands, technology is available and already in use by many companies.  Small features such as automatic braking, automatic lights, and hands free parallel parking are already realities in production.

So what would it cost to further implement automatic systems into our driving culture?  A lot of experimentation and education about the safety the driver less cars.  Currently, several prototypes for and autonomous car are being researched.  Companies such as Google, Tesla, and Ford are at the front edge, and are pursuing the production of cars that would lead to a safer, faster, and more efficient future in automobiles.

Our website is aimed to assist in education of the general audience about the advantages of these vehicles, while outlining the risks involved with this project.  Finding a solution to the increasingly dangerous issue of traffic safety is a critical issue that needs to be addressed.

In this video, Chris Urmson, the director of Google’s Self-driving Car Project discusses the progress that has bee made by Google toward production of a fully autonomous car.  Google is one of the leading companies researching this topic, and has made major strides in achieving this goal.
