Hey my frands!! Welcome to this weeks blog, while I am writing this in my favorite coffee shop sipping on my absolute favorite drink: a raw honey maple latte! This week on my class module I got the chance to learn about Active and different types of reading, because lets be honesty; if we read every single piece of information from everything we read in college, we probably would not graduate for an additional three years. A lot of times, I struggle obtaining the information I read in online readings. With most everything being through online textbooks, you must develop useful skills and habits to adapt to this way of learning. On the sixth slide of the module, one of the most interesting tips to be was quizzing yourself over the information that you read. This will test you to not only see if you can answer the different parts of information, but if you can come up with the questions to ask yourself. Later in the slide show, it shared with us the kinds of memory that we have, which are Sensory, working, and long term memory. I think it was fascinating learning about these different types that we use in even reading a simple paper or story. A piece of advice that I give you all is to take breaks throughout your readings. This will not only give your brain a break, but give it time to absorb the information that you just read. I want to challenge you all to do this, this week and evaluate what you get out of it. Have a great week and keep up the work as we finish this semester!

Week 3 Reflection
Hey world and Ohio State students! Just coming back to blog for you on something that applies to about every student out there. I will be discussing some of the information covered in Module 3 of this weeks work. The lesson started off by discussing the topic of, ready for it… PROCRASTINATION! I feel that this topic is something that every college student can admit to doing at some time. When I was reading through the module, I found the article on the ninth slide from Mind Tools. I found it so interesting in some of the overlooked tools that we can use to avoid this easy habit. One of these included recognizing that we are procrastinators. I feel like this applies to about anything in life, that recognizing a behavior and then correcting it pays off. This is a simple but effective way to master the efforts against this habit. Actually, this week I got to use this skill that we learned in the module. Once I admitted to myself that I had this problem,, I got to read more into what procrastination really is and the simple tips I could use to prevent this in the future. In fact, I submitted my Humanities project early this week: how cool is that?!! This is something that we as students must reflect on. Thank you for reading and well see you next week on this blog!
Week 1 Reflection
Wow! I feel like I already learned a lot of new material this week. I would say that the most useful and most reflective thing for myself this week was taking the Time Management Self-Assessment. It helped me better understand my ways of managing and balancing my schedule and reflect on what I can work on to be a more successful student. I learned that I need to focus more on the big things first before working on smaller or lesser of importance.
I scored a 44 which means that my results were:
You’re good at some things, but there’s room for improvement elsewhere. Focus on the serious issues and you’ll most likely find that work becomes much less stressful.
Something that I have already put into practice this week is Balancing my schedule. Earlier this week, I made a calendar for the next seven days and wrote down the big things that I either had going on or an assignment that was due. Once I could focus on getting those things crossed off, I had more time to relax in my schedule.
After completing this module, I learned that I need to focus on more important things which will help me not stress of all the things that I have to complete.
**Advice for Students** I found that the Time Management Self-Assessment really helped me pinpoint what I need to work on when it relates to my schedule. I would recommend not only taking the quiz (which we had to for our class) but reading your results and reflecting on what you can change to better yourself as a student. I find that if you can see what your doing wrong and how to fix it, that you can thrive at about anything in life!
Hello world!
Hi, and welcome to my blog OSU students! Looking forward to writing to you all.
