The full report for the Final Prototype Evaluation can be found here. Most patients could see the potential value in the final prototype while also acknowledging the need for greater stability. One patient also suggested to consider the scenario of getting off the toilet. The patients took slightly longer to stand up when using our prototype than their normal walkers, but this was primarily due to the fact that patients have difficulty learning new motions. Once acclimated to using our product, the standing time would likely be comparable.
One of the physical therapists we talked to suggested to make the canes removable because patients who use a walker can often use a cane too. Both physical therapists stated the the product would be extremely helpful to many patients.
