I originally chose OSU as the place to continue my athletic career in rugby alongside my brother.
The Honors program was something I joined at the beginning of my sophomore year because it seemed to offer incredible resources, specifically in terms of undergraduate research pathways.
After graduation, I plan to attend medical school, beginning in AU26. I am currently in the middle of preparing to take my MCAT.
As stated, I am on the Men’s rugby team but I also was a Mount Scholar, am currently in an executive role in my fraternity, I partake in cancer research and community outreach each summer in Cleveland, I love lake weekends, and my favorite music genres are R&B, reggae, and country.
I am from Cleveland, OH, though I was born in Erie, PA. I attended St. Edward High School in Lakewood which really shaped my identity as a leader in all aspects of my life, especially in an academic and athletic setting. Student leadership and advocacy were values instilled in me during those formative years at St. Ed’s.
My favorite class thus far was a first-year research survey (2998H) that I took with Dr. Sotomayor (sadly he is no longer here). That class was my first ever research experience and introduced me to undergraduate research. My advice to those worried or struggling to get involved in undergraduate research would be to take a course of this nature as no matter the outcome of the course, you will leave the experience with invaluable laboratory skills that potential PIs love to see on resumes.
