Hi everyone! My name is Ali, and I am a Psychology major with a minor in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. I grew up in Columbus and decided to come to Ohio State because it has always felt like home. Aside from class, I am a research assistant in two labs in the Psychology Department. I plan to attend graduate school to get my Ph.D. in Social Psychology to continue researching and become a professor. When I’m not working or studying, I enjoy hanging out with my friends, hiking, trying new coffee shops, and watching reality TV shows.

Transitioning to college can be very difficult, and I experienced some challenges in my first year, which is why I wanted to become a peer mentor. Since then, I have learned my way around, found great friends, and taken some amazing classes. My best advice for first-year students is to put yourselves out there and remember that you don’t need to have everything figured out right now. Feel free to reach out to me at any time for any reason!
