In summer of 2019, I developed and ran a service project for the Portage County Animal Protection League in order to earn my Eagle scout rank with troop 257 in Kent, Ohio. I worked with members of my troop, friends, neighbors, and family to build 20 cat beds with washable nylon covers, ten feral cat houses, and over 25 blankets for the animals at the shelter. The blankets became personal comfort items for the animals in the shelter that they could keep even after they were adopted. This project was very important to my development as a leader and it was for an organization that I am passionate about that was in need of service.
