Group Joiner Project

The digital collage we assembled in Photoshop

Finally, we finished the group joiner work. It’s really a hard work for us. The most frustrating things for us is that sometimes, we found two pictures whose characters’ postures has a good link with each other, but then we realized quickly that when we put these two pictures together, the backgrounds of these pictures didn’t match each other at all.

I feel I am very lucky since I got three pictures which capture three different shots of the movements of character’s head. This is very helpful to improve the continuity of our whole work.

No, the photoshop doesn’t know how to think, and it won’t know what humans want of course. Like the pictures we provided above. What we want is to show a person’s different action at the different moment in one picture. But what the photoshop do is to combine a complete stair for us.

Hockney must be very exciting and surprising about this new technology since it means he can do the more precise modification of this work and creates more complex and beautiful picture.

I think we should treat photoshop as a tool for creation. As I said photoshop can’t think by itself, and they won’t know what you want forever. What they can do is the more precise modification and post-processing of your work like the pen or camera. They will only work under your instruction.
