Story of My Project

This project is important to me because it is nostalgic to how I realized my interest in art as a whole. Drawing was the center of my artistic focus growing up until I discovered the fun in digital work. The transition of taking my drawings to the next level by scanning them into the computer and making them come to life with motion graphics was inspiring. I relay this background in my project by taking some of the past, but more recent, sketches of mine and bringing them to life not only in animation, but through the internet. By creating an Instagram face filter from my unrevealed doodles, I am allowing my drawings to be seen and worn by anyone.

Helpful Editing Videos

These tutorials use different apps on the iPad and softwares on the computer to create the vision I want to accomplish with drawing on videos for this project. Some programs they use are Autodesk Sketchbook to draw, Veed.io to draw directly on the video, iMovie “green/blue screen” and “crop to fill”, and AfterEffects to draw directly onto the video.

Video Documentation

Fish Hammer

I want to combine an audio narration with video documentation that has no explanation. Introducing myself at the beginning, then allowing the viewers to see the process and work behind my piece without any context lets the audience create their own narrative. They can feel what they want to feel and take what they perceive from the documentation, so it is, in a way, open to interpretation. At the end, however, I will explain my side of the story, even though it may not be theirs.
